Social Responsibility
Health and Safety
Health and Safety is a major priority in our operations, starting from safe transportation and storage of products, to safe operational practices and working conditions, and safe delivery to our suppliers. We follow the laws, regulations, and standards and constantly seek to improve our processes and to refine our awareness, evaluation, and control of hazards. We train and re-train our people to make safety a priority as they carry out their roles and responsibilities.
We are committed to continuously improving both physical and psychological work environment so that the employees feel and are safe while working. In creating a safe and healthy environment, all of us have the responsibility to look after our own as well as our colleague’s safety and work on reducing risks by implementing preventive actions.
The product safety is and will continue to be one of our top priorities. We deliver only products that are safe for our customers and for the final customers as well. We would under no circumstances make compromises on the safety of a product, and we make every effort to avoid hazards to health. We consider all the requirements of the Certificates of Analyses attached with the products for managing conditions that contribute to the overall safety of the products at production processes and warehouses. For food products, we apply the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system in our warehouse and we require 100% traceability on all our products.
One of our main dispersion suppliers, Organik Kimya, has been working intensively for achieving the compatibility of a new biocide package with the EU regulations on the content of MIT (Methylisothiazolinone) in water-based polymers. According to the 13th ATP to CLP released by European Commission in October 2018, the new specific concentration limit of 15 ppm for MIT will become legally binding on May 1, 2020. Organik Kimya has in the meantime restructured the products in order to meet the customer needs by being on the one hand MIT compliant and on the other hand by retaining the same product composition. The MIT-compliant polymers of Organik Kimya contain no more than 14 ppm CIT/MIT (CAS number 55965-84-9).
Sustainability
We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and to providing our customers with sustainable solutions.
We constantly work on the following sustainability and waste minimization principles:
– Continuous compliance with all applicable environmental regulations
– Reduction of energy consumption by increasing efficiency of energy consumption
– Decrease of waste generation by introducing waste reduction and recycling initiatives
– Reduction of greenhouse gas footprint through different carbon reduction initiatives
– Continuous improvement in green purchasing practices
Community Involvement
We believe that giving back to community is fundamental to who we are as individuals and as a company. Therefore, we value our commitment to supporting the communities where we operate through philanthropy, charity, and voluntarism. We have been focusing so far on supporting the infrastructure improvement of their areas with regard to streets and power supply, as well as on promoting the well-being of the residents. We will continue our community involvement whenever it will be necessary for them and possible for us.
